LDA Forms Committee to Probe Duplicate Files, Forged Documents in Johar Town

LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recently established a fact-finding committee to investigate allegations that officials created duplicate files and falsified documents for multiple plots in Johar Town.

The committee’s mandate includes examining whether existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been effective in addressing cases of duplicate file production dating back to May 5, 2018, when the application for property file No. JT-306-A/J-1 was submitted, through January 31, 2023.

The panel will also look into whether any plot exchanges that occurred during the same period were handled in accordance with SOPs.

Furthermore, the committee will compare and contrast inventory records, scanned data, and the list of duplicate files found in the parent directorate.
