LAHORE: The Commissioner of Lahore and Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has reactivated the scrutiny committee for the approval of private housing schemes in the city.
As per the details, the committee aims to make the process of approving private housing societies more transparent.
According to the sources, the scrutiny committee comprises officers from metropolitan planning and the Additional DG Housing.
Moreover, it will also scrutinize the cases of private housing societies and submit its report to the Chief Metropolitan Planner, who will then present proposals to the competent authority on the recommendations of the committee.
The committee will also ensure that private housing societies in Lahore go through a comprehensive process of scrutiny before receiving approval.
Besides, the convener of the committee will be the Additional DG Housing LDA, while the members will include all directors and deputy directors of metropolitan planning, the Director of Law, LDA, and the assistant director concerned.
The spokesman of the civic body stated that this initiative is expected to increase transparency and ensure that all private housing societies comply with the necessary regulations before approval.
The reactivation of the scrutiny committee is a positive step towards ensuring a fair and just process for private housing society approval in Lahore, he added.
