LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has given orders for closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to be installed to monitor ongoing development projects in the city.
This move is expected to ensure the quality and pace of these projects while reducing the misuse of public funds. Additionally, community participation and feedback will be utilized to supervise these projects.
During a visit to the Samanabad-Gulshan Ravi Underpass, Lahore Bridge, and CBD Underpass work site, the commissioner decided to implement IT-based technology for monitoring the development projects.
He instructed the relevant teams to ask consultants to install cameras at the project sites to facilitate effective monitoring.
The commissioner also directed the officers to resolve traffic issues before commencing work on the multi-level flyover in Shahdara.
It is important to note that LDA has initiated several development projects in Lahore, but they are facing delays for various reasons. To ensure quality assurance, the government has instructed LDA to enforce stricter protocols for all projects.
