PESHAWAR: The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) has completed the overhauling of the Malakand-III Hydropower Project, which will improve the project’s power generation capacity.
According to the sources, the PEDO constructed the hydropower project that produces 81 megawatts of cheap energy.
The overhaul has increased power generation, and improved infrastructure efficiency, and will boost the province’s income.
As per the details, the Chief Executive Officer of PEDO, Engr. Naeem Khan, inaugurated the third unit of 27 MW after the completion of the overhaul.
The overhaul was carried out in a short period of 50 days by the PEDO’s team of experts and engineers.
CEO Naeem Khan praised the team’s excellent performance and highlighted that the overhauling is the first of its kind since the plant’s establishment in 2008.
It is worth noting that the Malakand III power plant is an asset of the province that earns over Rs. 2 billion annually.
