Minister Emphasizes Safeguarding Agricultural Land in Master Plans

LAHORE: Considerable progress has been made on the preparation of master plans for 11 big districts of Punjab, according to Local Government and Community Minister Ibraheem Murad.

As per the details, land use classification maps for these districts have been created and sent to respective deputy commissioners for approval and notification.

Murad emphasized the importance of protecting agricultural land for food requirements and green areas for new housing schemes.

He directed action against illegal residential schemes and the creation of economic corridors in the districts to provide employment opportunities and reduce migration to big cities.

The master plans of the 11 districts of Punjab are to be completed soon to meet future development requirements.

The 11 districts include Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Wahari, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

After the land use classification maps are approved, the land use plans for the districts will be created, meeting their development requirements for the next 20 years.

In addition, Minister Murad suspended two employees of Faisalabad Parking Company after receiving a complaint through social media.

These employees were involved in torturing an elderly citizen who had come to get free flour at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
