LAHORE: On Thursday, Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Mian Aslam Iqbal, presided over the 86th board meeting of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA).
The meeting approved the launch of three new low-cost housing schemes: Campbellpur Greens Attock, Al-Rasheed Garden Gujranwala, and Al-Noor Garden Residencia Sangla Hill.
To provide residential facilities to locals at a minimum time, the meeting decided to form a monitoring committee to oversee the housing projects.
The meeting also agreed to reserve a 20% quota in each housing scheme for the Naya Pakistan Housing Program, as well as approve the formulation of pension rules for PHATA employees and other administrative matters to ensure smooth operation.
On the occasion, the provincial minister emphasized the importance of making it easier for developers to accelerate development work and made it clear that there was no room for corruption.
He stated that the government’s priority was the Naya Pakistan Housing Project and added, “I intend to complete as many housing schemes as possible in the shortest amount of time.”
Developers involved in PHATA housing schemes should be given as many resources as possible, he instructed.
