Multan Prepares for Potential Floods: Commissioner’s Directives Issued

MULTAN: Commissioner Multan division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, has urged the district administrations to be prepared for potential floods.

During a meeting, he instructed Deputy Commissioners and the Irrigation department to conduct thorough inspections of safety embankments, undertake encroachment operations, and ensure the safe evacuation of people and cattle from riverine areas.

Engineer Aamir Khattak emphasized that people who have been evacuated from the riverine areas should refrain from returning, and strict action will be taken against those who disregard the evacuation orders.

While there have been reports of low-level floods in the Ravi and Sutlej rivers, there is currently no flood threat in river Chenab. Nevertheless, the administration remains on high alert.
