NAB Investigates Former CM Pervaiz Elahi for Approving Master Plan 2050 Illegaly

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an inquiry against the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, and others for alleged involvement in illegally approving the Master Plan Lahore Division 2050.

As part of the investigation, the NAB has requested the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to nominate a focal person to assist the bureau’s combined investigation team.

In a letter to the DG LDA, the NAB has requested the nomination of a focal person with at least BPS-18 rank and expertise in the master plan approval process.

The focal person will assist the NAB team in analyzing data, reports, surveys, and other relevant documents related to the case.

The NAB has further directed the DG LDA to ensure that the nominated focal person contacts the deputy director of NAB’s Investigation Wing-II on or before April 12.

This move is seen as a significant step towards expediting the ongoing investigation and bringing the culprits to justice.

The Master Plan Lahore Division 2050’s approval has been controversial for some time now.

The alleged illegal approval of the plan by former CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and others has raised serious concerns regarding the transparency and fairness of the approval process.

The investigation by NAB is being closely watched, and many hope it will bring clarity to the matter and ensure justice for all involved parties.
