LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Punjab University Town III (Jamia Town) housing project.
As per the details, NAB sent a call-up notice to the developer, Mian Javed, stating that they received several complaints about the misuse of collected funds amounting to Rs. 2,700 million from the general public and employees of the university.
It is also worth noting that the ACE had earlier found embezzlement and illegalities in the purchase and sale of land/plots in the housing society established by the faculty.
NAB is investigating allegations of obtaining a pecuniary advantage without or inadequate consideration, misappropriation, and criminal breach of trust.
