New Gwadar International Airport Achieves 55% Work Completion

GWADAR: As test flights gear to begin in 60 days, New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) has met its new construction standard with 55% of its multi-level work finished.

Official sources with the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) said on Monday that the projected cost of building the NGIA was Rs 51.28 billion.

The work was sped up by the government’s intensified efforts and cooperation of all parties involved, including the Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan, and China Communication Construction Company (CCCC).

The sources also informed that the federal government in a bid to uplift the aviation sector has also recently released Rs. 2 billion for the Gwadar International Airport

An official source claimed that the project’s passenger terminal building would be finished by June 2023, the work linked to air traffic control by March 2023, and the airport’s entire construction would be concluded by September 2023.

It is worth noting that the airport is being built for $246 million and covers an area of 4,300 acres.
