Obstacles Faced in Developing Gandhara Enclave Housing Project

ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has been facing issues in developing the Gandhara Enclave housing society that falls on the GT Road, as some of the land acquired for Sangjani water projects falls in the project’s layout plan.

As per the details, the project falls in Zone I and Zone III of the capital where it cannot be developed as per the zoning regulations of 1992.

The project was approved to carry out the development only in Zone I earlier in July. Later, it was realized that some land that was acquired for the Sangjani water project falls in the layout plan of the project.

It was also alleged that some government officials have pressurized the Capital Development Authority to carry out the project on 5,000 Kanal of land.

However, CDA has denied the allegation by saying that there were no such pressures and that the project would be executed according to the zoning regulations.

In addition to this, the Chairman CDA Muhammad Usman Younis also said that the project was approved before his joining.

Yet he ensured that the project would be developed after completing all the legal requirements.
