Old Bannu Road to be Dualized and Upgraded

BANNU: In the Bannu region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 83-kilometer Old Bannu Road is being upgraded and dualized.

As per the details, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) won the bid for the 40 km Domail-Khurrum segment which costs PKR 7.132 billion.

The development work was started in 2018 and 60% of the progress has been made.

According to an NHA official, the second segment which is a 35 km Khurram-Krapa segment has also been received by the FWO and it costs PKR 5.927 billion. The second segment is also halfway through.

Furthermore, the 8 km Gaandi Chowk Sarai Naurang stretch of the third segment of Old Bannu road was given to the joint venture of NCC-IKAN-HRPL against a bid of PKR 0.718 billion. This segment was started in February 2018 and has been finished already.

The NHA official also added that this development will expedite the trade activity in under-developed areas helping them to boost their economies.
