Cement sales in Pakistan hit a nine-month low, with a 16.55% decrease compared to the same month the previous year, according to the All-Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
The industry dispatched a total of 2.951 million tons of cement in April 2023, down from 3.536 million tons in April 2022.
Local cement shipments by the industry also dropped by 25.13% in April 2023 compared to the same month last year.
However, cement exports increased for north and south-based manufacturers, with north-based exports rising by 35.93% and south-based exports growing by 255.49% in April 2023 compared to April 2022.
