ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has directed the relevant authorities to complete the Narowal Sports City Project, as soon as possible.
The project has been delayed as the National Accountability Bureau ordered to stop it in 2018.
While presiding over a meeting, Ahsan Iqbal stated that the project’s initial total cost was Rs 2.9 billion, of which Rs 2.2 billion had been spent till May 2018.
He added that as per Nespak’s report, an additional amount of PKR 2.9 billion would be required in order to complete the project.
However, the contractors for this project claim that it would cost an additional PKR 2.2 billion due to the project’s unreasonable delay.
Earlier, Ahsan Iqbal blamed the former head of NAB Justice Javed Iqbal, and Prime Minister Imran Khan for the project’s delay and also said that the extra money should be recovered from them.
