MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabian government for giving PKR 30 billion for community projects in AJK.
The PM stated the funds released by the Saudi Government would cover almost 85% of the cost of the 48 MW Shounthar Hydropower project and 22 MW Jagran-IV hydropower projects.
According to the details, the remaining 15% of the cost will be covered by the Federal Government’s Public Sector Development Program.
The PM also added that the 3.7 km tunnel between Kamsar and Kahori and the 600 m tunnel at Chalpani, all of which are located on the Neelum Valley road inside the confines of Muzaffarabad district, will aid in easy commute between Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley.
He said that he had not been elected to loot AJK’s resources or utilize them for personal gains, and that his government’s goal was to make AJK a role model for the rest of the world.
