PM Shehbaz Sharif Prioritizes Development and Welfare in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and transport facilities for the residents of Islamabad.

During a meeting held in the capital city, the Prime Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects and stressed the importance of providing world-class civic amenities while maintaining transparency and quality standards.

Highlighting the significance of overseas Pakistanis, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that their welfare is a top priority for the government.

The meeting was also briefed about the construction of modern residential units specifically designed for overseas Pakistanis in Islamabad.

It was mentioned that housing schemes tailored for this demographic have been initiated, offering a 15% concession on full payment.

Furthermore, the meeting revealed that 45 commercial plots at prime locations in Islamabad will soon be available for auction.

Regarding the development of rural areas in the Islamabad Capital Territory, the implementation of a 10 billion rupees package was discussed.

As part of this initiative, an additional 160 electric buses will be introduced on various routes, contributing to an improved and sustainable transport system in Islamabad. Thirty of these electric buses are expected to arrive by mid-June this year.

In addition, the meeting addressed the issue of solid waste management, and a short-term plan is set to commence next month, and an international tender has already been issued for the project.

The Prime Minister instructed the development of a comprehensive solid waste management plan for Islamabad, which will be presented to the federal cabinet for approval.
