Provincial Government Plans to Build Breakwater Project in Gwadar

According to a news source, a breakwater project for Gwadar will be built near the Jebel-e-Nuh that has been given a total budget of Rs. 42.19 billion.

The construction of the breakwater is one of the criteria for the Port’s growth.

This will aid in providing acceptable berthing conditions for the port’s eastern berths and would also aid in the port’s expansion.

The breakwater project is expected to take roughly ten years to complete, with a completion date of 2032.

The proposed breakwater will be 1,772 meters long in the northeast direction. There is currently no other breakwater of comparable size in the vicinity.

The information provided indicates that specialists carried out a feasibility assessment that suggested building a breakwater near the location of Gwadar Headland.

Building this breakwater project aims to offer sufficient maritime protection from waves and monsoon surges.

As a result, reasonable wave conditions would be offered, which would be considered safe for berthing as well as cargo operations and other duties of the East Bay development projects.
