Punjab Board of Revenue Plans to Amend Land Revenue Act

LAHORE: Punjab Board of Revenue has announced plans to amend the Land Revenue Act and Rules in a meeting chaired by Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Nabeel Javed.

During the meeting, it was decided that Assistant Director Land Records (ADLRs) will be placed under Assistant Commissioners, and a letter will be issued to districts to ban dismissed employees from revenue offices.

SMBR Nabeel Javed said that the number of rural centers in Punjab would be increased, and he would monitor revenue-related issues and adopt a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.

He also directed officers to closely monitor monitoring, operation wings, land record centers, rural centers, and financial, technical, and administrative issues.

During the visit to Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) headquarters, SMBR Dr. Nabeel was briefed on the functioning and concept of RUDA and Central Business District Authority (CBDA).

The briefing session discussed matters related to land, wastewater, afforestation, and carbon credits.

Besides, ED Commercial RUDA Kashif Qureshi and ED Commercial CBDA Omer briefed Dr. Nabeel on their respective projects.

He added that the move to amend the Land Revenue Act and Rules in Punjab is expected to streamline revenue-related issues and combat corruption in the region.
