Punjab Gets ‘Digitization of Land Record’ Throughout the Province

PUNJAB: Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Punjab’s Minister of Revenue, stated on Wednesday that the administration of the province has digitized land records for the convenience of the citizens.

The minister, during a meeting, stated that the computerization of land records across the province was given top priority and that the project was completed in collaboration with the World Bank.

Previously, no steps were taken to eradicate patwari culture, he said, adding that the provincial government had taken immediate practical steps to permanently bury the 150-year-old outdated ‘Patwar’ culture.

According to him, all land and revenue centers were operating smoothly with the issuance of documents and the mutation process, and the records of the mouzas throughout Punjab had been notified as well.

Furthermore, he stated that copies of land records were being provided in all tehsils of the province’s 36 districts without errors, and that the land records of the tehsils across Punjab had been scanned and saved at all record centers.

In the event of a complaint, the public can contact a free call center, separate counters had been set up for women and senior citizens while a token system to abolish VIP culture had also been made available, he concluded.
