Punjab Governor Calls for Master Plan for Bahawalpur’s Development

BAHAWALPUR: The Governor of Punjab, Balighur Rehman, has called for the creation of a comprehensive master plan for the development of Bahawalpur city.

During a meeting, the governor instructed Commissioner Raja Jahangir and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, Zahid Parvaiz Warraich to ensure that the plan addresses all essential needs of the local community.

According to an official statement, the governor emphasized the importance of resolving the basic problems faced by the residents of Bahawalpur.

He also directed the administration to establish a modern slaughterhouse and cattle market to cater to the city’s needs.

The governor also urged the expediting of the construction of the Jhangra Eastern dual carriageway, which will connect the city to the Sukkur-Multan Motorway.

The Commissioner reported to the governor the ongoing efforts to restore the sewerage system in some parts of the city that was damaged by recent rains.

He also informed the governor about the development of a synthetic athlete track at the local stadium, which will cost around Rs. 370 million.

The governor also expressed his condolences for the recent terrorist attack at the police lines mosque in Peshawar, and expressed his grief over the loss of life.
