Punjab Govt Allocates PKR 1Bn for Mattital Road

MULTAN: The Punjab Government has released an additional PKR 1 billion to construct and extend Mattital Road.

The Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab, Captain (R) Saqib Zafar, has shared that the 21-kilometer-long road project is expected to cost PKR 2.5 billion.

He shared that the construction of the 10-kilometer road was halfway through, and the first phase of the project had cost PKR 640 million while the second phase would cost PKR 400 million.

The ACS also shared that the Chief Secretary and Chairman of P&D, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, visited Multan and was briefed about the project. Upon his instruction, the amount of PKR 1 billion was allocated for phase 2 of the project.

Additionally, he added that the highway department had been directed to accelerate the development work on the project.
