LAHORE: The Housing Department of Punjab has taken decisive action in response to the rainwater accumulation issue at Kalma Chowk Underpass and various other locations.
The details suggest that a fact-finding committee has been constituted to investigate the causes behind these incidents and identify the responsible parties.
According to the official notification, Syed Zahid Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of Abb-e-Pak Authority and MD of Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (OMDFC), has been appointed as the convener of the committee.
Furthermore, the committee’s other members include Chief Engineer Highway, Khawar Zaman, and Deputy Secretary Housing, Saman Khalid.
According to sources, the primary objective of this committee is to thoroughly examine the factors contributing to rainwater accumulation at Kalma Chowk Underpass and other affected areas.
Additionally, the committee will also hold accountable any officers found responsible for the issue.
Besides, to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future, the committee is also tasked with presenting effective recommendations based on their investigation.
The committee is expected to work submit its report within the next seven days, outlining its findings and proposed solutions.
