Punjab Mass Transit Authority to Introduce Business Model at Metro Stations

LAHORE: The Board of Governors of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) has given preliminary approval to introduce a business model for the Metro Bus Service and Orange Line Metro Train stations.

During a meeting, a proposal to establish stalls, shops, ATMs, and vending machines at the stations was reviewed.

The board also discussed the possibility of incorporating digital streamers, glass boards, and other advertising tools at the stations.

Furthermore, the board has also approved the extension of the contract for the Bahawalpur-Lodhran Speedo Bus Service.

Additionally, it has granted preliminary approval to engage a private contractor for the Lodhran Bus Service in collaboration with the Punjab Transport Company.

In a separate meeting, Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued directives to enhance the transportation system in Bahawalpur. Matters regarding the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by the chief secretary, IG of police, chairman of the Planning and Development Board, secretaries of finance and transport, officials from the PMTA, and other senior officers.
