Punjab Revenue Official Requests Reports on Amenity Land from Rawalpindi Districts

RAWALPINDI: The Senior Member of the Board of Revenue Punjab, Nabil Javed, has requested reports from the deputy commissioners of all four districts in the Rawalpindi division.

As per the details, the reports are to be submitted by July 30 and should provide information on the transfer of amenity land in private housing schemes.

According to the law, private housing societies are required to transfer land allocated for various amenities, such as roads, parks, mosques, community centers, graveyards, and educational centers, in the name of the state.

During a meeting with Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaqat Ali Chatha, Nabil Javed also emphasized the need to expedite the transfer of citizens’ land within 24 hours of registration with the revenue department.

Furthermore, he set a deadline of July 15 for Patwaris (revenue officials) who are holding citizens’ land records unnecessarily to complete the process.

Besides, he warned that action would be taken against those who fail to meet the deadline.

In addition, Javed expressed the importance of issuing income-related notices and filing returns to collect data at the provincial level.

He noted that 82% of khewats (revenue estate units) had already been unblocked and urged the prompt unblocking of the remaining 4,970 khewats.

The meeting also discussed the provision of necessary facilities and equipment at the ‘Dahi Markaz Mall’ and land record centers to ensure efficient public service.
