RAWALPINDI: In line with the directives of the Punjab government, the district of Rawalpindi observed Anti-Dengue Day with various activities aimed at raising awareness about dengue prevention.
The district administration and civil society organized awareness rallies, conducted seminars, and carried out special cleaning drives in public offices, buildings, and marketplaces.
According to sources, the health department led a central rally, led by focal person Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, to reinforce the importance of dengue prevention.
Moreover, the citizens were also educated about precautionary measures to protect themselves against the disease.
In addition, Deputy Commissioner Umar Jahangir emphasized the vital role of civil society and the business community in the success of the dengue campaign.
He also urged citizens to cooperate with the district administration in keeping the environment clean and dry.
Jahangir further shared that sensitive areas were being monitored through geo-tagging to prevent the growth of dengue larvae.
Additionally, online records of dengue patients were being compiled in all hospitals, enabling efficient tracking and management of cases.
