Rawalpindi ETNCD Issues Deadline for Property Tax Payment

According to press reports, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control (ETNC) department in Rawalpindi has set a deadline for paying property taxes of Sept 30.

Tax notifications with a planned tax increase of 10% for both commercial and residential properties have been issued by the authority.

Up to 112,000 homes and owners of commercial property have reportedly received letters requiring them to pay property taxes by the deadline.

To make the procedure more attractive, the ETNC has also included the following tax benefits:

  • The owners of lavish houses and assets will receive a 10% discount if they pay their taxes on time.
  • A 10% discount will be given when paying the tax amount using the Easypaisa App.
  • Taxpayers will receive a 5% discount if they file their returns through certain ETNC offices or banking channels.
  • Taxpayers who don’t pay the prescribed amount by the deadline risk fines, property confiscation, and other legal repercussions.

It was also highlighted that the ETNC has already written to taxpayers and would contact them shortly to let them know the deadline is drawing near.

The administration has already established a monitoring unit to offer support via WhatsApp in an effort to further simplify the procedure.

Additionally, the Rawalpindi ETNC updated the status of all schools, salons, and shops operating in residential buildings from residential to commercial.
