RDA DG Assesses Monsoon Preparations in High-Risk Areas Along Nullah Leh

RAWALPINDI: The Director General (DG) of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, conducted a visit to the high-risk areas along Nullah Leh on Saturday to evaluate the preparations for the upcoming monsoon season.

To ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, Jappa instructed the Managing Director of Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Mohammad Tanveer, and the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation to expedite the cleanliness work before the onset of the monsoon.

Furthermore, it was also emphasized that solid waste and encroachments along the banks of Leh Nullah needed to be promptly removed, while the citizens were urged not to dispose of solid waste near Leh Nullah.

The spokesperson further stated that the DG issued strict directives to WASA and the RMC, emphasizing the importance of taking decisive actions to prevent residents from dumping garbage and solid waste into Leh Nullah.

Recognizing the urgency of addressing the challenges faced during the monsoon season, it was ordered that prompt measures should be taken to safeguard the residents residing in low-lying areas from flood risks.

The spokesperson further informed that the DG sternly warned the concerned officials that any negligence or complacency on their part would not be tolerated.
