RAWALPINDI: In anticipation of Pakistan’s upcoming Independence Day, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a fitting and vibrant celebration.
Under the guidance of Chief Secretary Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, the RDA is diligently finalizing arrangements to mark the occasion in a befitting manner.
Chairing a meeting on Thursday to discuss the preparations for Independence Day celebrations, Director General (DG) RDA Saif Anwar Jappa emphasized the need for swift and meticulous arrangements.
In line with his directives, the RDA is preparing to adorn markets, plazas, shops, and roads, notably the stretch from Chandni Chowk to Faizabad and Airport Road, with an array of national flags, buntings, captivating paintings, and vibrant lights.
The DG has urged RDA and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officers to ensure the most impeccable arrangements for the Independence Day festivities.
Additionally, a camp office will be established on Murree Road to oversee and manage the celebrations effectively.
To underline the importance of environmental conservation, saplings will also be distributed among citizens on this momentous day.
In addition, the DG has also called upon approved housing schemes to actively partake in the Independence Day celebrations, adding an inclusive spirit to the festivities.
