RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) reported on Monday that the financial department of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has authorized an increase in the transportation allowance for the agency’s employees who are blind, deaf, or otherwise incapacitated.
As per the details, the decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Chairman RDA/WASA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, who gave the relevant authorities the order to authorize an increase in the handicapped employees’ transportation allowance.
Furthermore, the panel decided to raise the transportation allowance for government workers with disabilities from Rs. 2560 to Rs. 6,000.
The spokesperson of WASA claimed that up to 31 WASA employees, including women, would profit from this increase as the hike had been granted by Punjab government policy.
He also stated that the December 2022 salaries will include the increased conveyance allowance.
Besides, the paralyzed workers met with Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Chairman of WASA and RDA, and thanked him for approving an increase in the conveyance allowance.
