RAWALPINDI: The Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing of the Rawalpindi Development Authority ()RDA has launched an operation against the illicit commercial buildings on Adiyala Road.
The authority was directed by Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, to carry out an operation against the illegal constructions.
As a result, the authorities have sealed 50 shops and 2 CNG stations on Adiyala Road.
Earlier, the DG disclosed that a grand operation would be carried out against the illegal buildings and also ordered to file an FIR against the owner of a Marriage Hall located on Adiyala Road.
According to an RDA official, the owners of these illegal constructions have violated the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021.
The buildings have been erected without the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Such operations have also been carried out on Shahpur Road and the DG ordered the Building Control Wing to undertake a survey on the fee and charges to approve the illegal residential and commercial buildings, complimentary maps, and building plans.
