Restoration of Islamabad’s Dampened Beauty in Full Swing

The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) environment wing has begun clearing wild bushes and plants that grew as a result of recent rainfall.

The unpleasant plants not only strayed Islamabad’s natural beauty but also served as a potential breeding place for dengue mosquitoes, said Director General Environment Irfan Niaz on Wednesday.

Speaking to APP, he explained that during the first phase, CDA workers would trim the grass and cut back the shrubs on major roads before moving on to all of the capital’s centers (marakiz).

During the drive, he said, laborers and specialized grass-cutting equipment are being deployed.

The workers had already accelerated their work, especially in Islamabad’s green belts, middle strips, various marakiz, and residential neighborhoods.

“Additionally, efforts are being made to make parks more attractive so that people may enjoy themselves while we are also working to further enhance Fatima Jinnah Park’s appearance,” the DG stated.

Irfan stated that special teams had been established for the purpose under the direction of CDA Chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed, and their performance would be evaluated daily.
