The Senate on Thursday was briefed that 3,564 Low-Cost Housing Units (LCUs) owned by the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) and 18,499 by the Akhuwat Foundation, had been constructed as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.
In response to a question from Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi, the Minister in charge of the Cabinet Division shared data with the House, stating that 150,712 LCUs were under construction and planned around the country.
The House was informed that balloting had taken place for 300 LCUs of the PHA Housing Scheme in Jalozai, Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4,000 LCUs of the LDA City in Lahore, 2,000 LCUs of Farash Town, CDA, Islamabad, 839 LCUs of Raiwind, Sargodha, and Chiniot, and 1,508 LCUs of WWF in Zone-V, Islamabad.
It was also stated that the cases of 9,563 successful balloted applicants for under-construction housing units were being processed for Housing Finance.
