Sindh Govt and ADB Partner to Expand Bus Fleet for Peoples Bus Service

KARACHI: The Sindh government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have partnered to enhance the public transportation system in the province by procuring more electric buses.

As per the details, this collaboration was agreed upon in a meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and a delegation from the ADB-led by Country Director, Yong Ye.

The People Bus Service, which has already been launched in the city, has received positive feedback from the public and the Sindh government aims to add more electric buses to the service until the construction of the BRT system is completed.

According to sources, the Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for the success of the People Bus Service and emphasized the need for further improvement.

Furthermore, the ADB country head also pledged support for the proposal, and a committee consisting of ADB officials and P&D officers was formed to finalize the project details.

This partnership between the Sindh government and the ADB will bring about improved public transportation and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the province, the CM added.
