Sindh Govt to Release Flood Compensation from Feb 8

KARACHI: The Chief Secretary of Sindh, Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput, announced that compensation for flood-damaged houses will be distributed starting February 8.

According to the details, owners of completely damaged houses will receive PKR 300,000, while those with partially damaged homes will receive PKR 50,000.

The funds will be transferred through the Sindh People’s Housing Foundation (SPHF), in partnership with various organizations.

The World Bank has pledged USD 500 million for flood rehabilitation, with equal contributions from the Federal and Sindh governments.

Furthermore, the SPHF was established under the company’s ordinance to aid rehabilitation efforts and is partnering with various organizations, such as the National Rural Support Program and Thardeep Rural Development Program, to ensure the transparent distribution of funds.
