Sindh High Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Removal of Entry Barriers from DHA

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has dismissed a petition calling for the removal of barricades erected by the administration of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) at the entry and exit points of the Qayyumabad area.

As per details, the petitioners, Fardoon Khan and others, residents of Qayyumabad, claimed in their petition that DHA officials were harassing the residents by erecting barriers, gates, and checkpoints at the main entrance and exit points.

The plea stated that the placement of the barriers was causing hardship and harassment to the residents and asked the high court to order their removal.

After hearing the petitioner’s counsel’s arguments, a division bench of the SHC led by Justice Rizvi observed that the DHA staff had been taking steps to ensure the security and safety of the residents.

The court dismissed the plea and remarked the petition was filed in haste with the motive to restrain DHA staff from providing necessary security to residents.
