GILGIT: The world’s highest cricket stadium has been inaugurated in the Nagar Valley on Sunday.
The stadium has been named Pissan Cricket Stadium and is 8,500 ft. high above sea level.
Office of the Chief Secretary, Gilgit Baltistan shared a video of the stadium and under the mighty Rakaposhi on their official Twitter account.
According to the details, an inaugural cricket match was played between different teams from Diamir and Nagar, and the provincial Minister Fatehullah Khan was invited as the Chief Guest
Moreover, a three-kilometer road was opened by the local authorities for the general public to reach the stadium.
The decision to develop a cricket ground was made last year after the photos of the Pissan Ground went viral on the internet in February.
