Warid Telecom has confirmed the injection of US 250 million dollars (Rs. 20 billion) equity by its joint shareholders Abu Dhabi Group and Singtel, reports Dawn Newspaper citing a statement issued by company.
Statement said that Warid has aggressively penetrated the Pakistan mobile communication services market with huge capital expenditure, which has enabled it to capture market share of 18.8% (as of Dec 08) and coverage in over 450 cities and 7,200 towns across Pakistan.
Company says that equity injection will be used to further enhance the Company’s network coverage with the objective to provide quality services to its customers.

Warid has relatively good service but the problem with previou management was that they didn’t listen to public saying. After geat thinking I suggested that WARID charges more tax than any other operator but they claim(& people think it true) that they give RS.100 on recharge with no deduction. That was totally wrong.
The real situation was. With other operators u rcv RS.91 after deduction and have to pay Excise Duty 15% on RS.91 where as in Warid case one has to 15% duty on RS.100. In Post-paid the tax was same as it is deducted on total bill.
But neither warid nor PTA look into this matter and people were happy that no deductin was made and they rcv 100 on recharge of 100. I don’t know the present situation as i have left warid a long ago. TELL ME CURRENT STATUS. THANKS
