Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is conducting Quality of Service Survey (QoS) of cellular networks for international roaming, told us industry sources.
PTA had selected 18 countries across the globe for testing cellular services, using different parameters including but not limited to Call Completion Ratio (CCR). We are told by sources in cellular companies that this survey is being done for last 6 months and may take another 2 months before the results are concluded.
Adhoc tests revealed that out of 18, cellular services in 6 countries were not satisfactory – hence authority is planning to re-test the services in these countries – which are
- USA
- Canada
- Egypt
- Malaysia
- South Africa
- And Italy
Let’s expect results of this QoS survey in September 2009.
