Bank Alfalah and MasterCard have signed an agreement to bring MasterCard Internet Gateway System (MIGS) to Pakistan, said a statement issued by the company.
Proposed system will connect online merchants and websites with customers by accepting credit cards on the internet. System will also enable online merchants to get the payments into their bank accounts directly.
This partnership is of great significance as it brings together Pakistan’s leading card services provider, Bank Alfalah and MasterCard’s expertise and technology into a single place.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Atif Bajwa, President & CEO, Bank Alfalah said, “We continue our quest to develop a world class payments eco system in Pakistan that creates value and convenience for customers, merchants, and partners. Bank Alfalah will leverage its flagship merchant acquiring business to develop the e-commerce space through MIGS in the country.”
Mr. Raghu Malhotra, President, Middle East and North Africa, MasterCard comments, “We are delighted to announce this deal with Bank Alfalah as we continue to drive the evolution of payments in Pakistan. Business owners can now easily take their businesses online and offer their customers the convenience and security of electronic payments.”
Pakistan still lacks any workable and feasible online payment solution. We will have to see if Bank Alfalah can tap this hugely unexplored but multi-billion dollar market.

You can already purchase on that chinese website, with your master credit card , and debit card if your bank has allowed e commerce international transactions , it has nothing to do with this payment gateway
MCB Lite, UBL Wiz, UBL Visa Debit and Credit Card, UBL MasterCard Credit & Debit Card, HBL VISA Credit and Dbit card, Standard Charted VISA Credit and Debit card, Bank Alfallah Debot and Credit card, NIB Credit and Debit card and Credit card from most of the banks can be used to purchase online.
Personally I use HBL VISA Debit Card and MCB Lite for online shopping.
UBL wants me to call them before making an online purchase and tell them what i’m buying and for how much. They will then open my visa debut card for online purchase.
Most of the banks will ask you the same.
Just get UBL Internet VISA card, it is already activated and ready to be used every time. You just need to load funds.
Get their Wiz Internet card. You won’t need to make any call for internet transactions.
My HBL Debit Card isn’t working. I don’t know how you managed to make it work. Do I have to contact HBL support for that?
Bank Alfalah Debit card is not allowed to purchase online.
what about meezan bank? is they accept online transactions on their debit visa card or any other card.

Try MCBLite. I used MCBLite on Aliexpress.com, godaddy.com, namesillo.com and numerous other site. HBL bhe kafi jagah use kea but yeh kahin kahin reject hojaata. MCB almost her jagah sahi chala. P.S: For HBL before doing online shopping u have to activate ecommerece session by calling helpline.
You can also do shopping online by using standard charted Visa debit card , as well as ubl wiz, also you can see payoneer master (very handy), and accepted almost any where

You cn do so through MCB bank account with normal Debit card, you just need to call MCB helpline to active your debit card for online transication and your on the way….

The most important thing to note here is the last para most of these services charge too much forsmall scale websites to use them. Then there is the issue of trust with online retailors.
UBL is already providing payment gateway service and websites are accepting online payments using credit cards master/visa.
So what are the new features and pricing as compare to UBL ?
That is too much costly. Rs. 40,000 per month and Rs. 100,000 setup charges.

A step forward but we need to put it in our heads that there is no replacement for Paypal. All the stake holders needs to sit together and bring it to Pakistan if they really want us connected to the world.
UBL wale debit card pe payment wasool krtae hy mgr pir daetae hi nhi hy my ne apne debit card par jb payment request ki ti mgr aaj tak wo mujy nhi mili hy ubl wale kehtae hy dispute form fill kro jb fill kiya or send kiya pir kehtae hy sorry sir we didn,t locate your fund or wo payment apni pocket my daal di
I had same situation but fortunately in my case they refunded the transactions after 6 months :) If you ever want to make online payment use their WIZ Internet! it has auto refund facility.
Mr.Bajwa, took good decision to bring MasterCard Internet Payment Gateway in Bank Alfalah. In the future will open new Avenues for his customers as well .
don’t get much excited this will be surely not much helpful for SMEs same as UBL payment Gateway

Why ‘ve written Maser Card, is just a name or this processor can only process / accept only Master card. I think they’ll accept all cards like 2CO does but don’t know they’ll accept Paypal or not. Lets hope they ‘ll match with 2CO Services.

Favorable laws like Payment System Electronic funds Transfer Laws are available to support such facilities. being cyber law expert i support it with vehemence.
