CTO Telenor is Struggling for Pakistani Visa

Telenor’s new CTO Mr. Sanjay Vaghasia is struggling to get Pakistani Visa, as he replaces Mr. Peter Anthony Dindial, who has moved to India to head Unitech Wireless, told us a reliable source at Telenor Pakistan.

Reportedly, Mr. Sanjay Vaghasia is not given Pakistan visa for unknown reasons. Sources familiar with the situation told us that Mr. Baghasia is an Indian by origin, though he was brought up in Malaysia.

To know Telenor’s stance over the situation, when we asked Telenor if it is true that ex-CTO telenor has moved to India to head Telenor’s arm in the country, while new CTO, who is an Indian by Nationality, and brought up in Malaysia, is refused for Pakistani Visa; Syed Hasnat Masood, Director Corporate Communications, Telenor Pakistan, responded in following manner through an email sent to us,

“It is true that Telenor Pakistan’s previous Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Peter Anthony Dindial, has moved onwards for an assignment in India where Telenor has recently bought ownership stake in Unitech Wireless.”

Email further said, “The candidate selected as the new CTO, Mr. Sanjay Vaghasia, is a Malaysian by three generations and is currently coming to us from Kuwait, Wataniya Telecoms (a QTCL Group Company) where he was serving since 2004. Mr. Vaghasia has extensive international experience in implementation, IT, planning, network engineering, and 3G. We are currently working on an agreement for his joining date.”
