President and CEO of Telenor Pakistan, Mr. Jon Eddy Abdullah, said that Mr. Khan, who holds the honorary “First Employee” position in the company, had played an integral role in the success of the company since the start of its operations in 2004.

Mr. Abdullah also noted that Mr. Khan’s move to the Telenor Group level was an important milestone for Telenor Pakistan as it “opens the door for home-grown talent to venture outside of the local environment and gain valuable international experience”.  He added that he was strongly committed to “ensuring that the best Telenor Pakistan employees are recognized and are given optimal growth opportunities, not just within the home organization, but in other locations within the larger Telenor Group”.

Commenting on Telenor Pakistan’s newly established position of Chief Strategy Officer, Mr. Abdullah explained that the move was both timely and beneficial to the company, considering the anticipated challenges in its next phase of growth.

“Mr. Ibrahim’s strong local industry knowledge, as well as his international experience in sales, marketing, and business development, would enable him to play a key strategic role in shaping the future of Telenor Pakistan,” he added.
