Though Digital advertising isn’t that rich in MENA, which accounts below than 4 percent of overall ad spending, however the 300 percent growth in user-base is what had attracted Twitter to offer services in Middle East and North Africa.

Twitter, at the launch event, said that Pepsi and “Etihad Etisalat Company” are among its confirmed clients.

Twitter says the products it promotes typically have an audience response rate of 1 to 3 percent, significantly higher than traditional advertising rate of 0.1 to 0.5 percent.

Arabic is said to be the fastest growing languages on Twitter, while those users from MENA region tweeting in English is more than the Arabic language users.

Twitter expects further user growth in the region after the announcement of ad services.

Twitter claims to have over 200 million users world-wide and 400 million tweets a day, out of which 70 percent users are outside America.
