Ufone organized a blood donation campaign in its Lahore office with the Ufone Volunteers Group and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
Ufone Volunteers Group is a socially responsible employees’ group that voluntarily participates in activities that help the community, said a statement issued by the company.
This blood donation drive took place on Friday, November 21, 2013. All employees enthusiastically contributed for such a noble cause. The donors included everyone from trainees to team leaders, even the security and transport staff.
Post-blood donation care was also provided to ensure the proper well-being of the employees. There were doctors present in-house as well to answer all medical related queries, if any.
Amir Pasha, Head of PR & CSR at Ufone, said “Corporate volunteerism is an integral part of our CSR strategy. Our culture at work greatly emphasizes on helping out others in any possible way. The enthusiasm and interest of our employees in acting socially responsible encourages us to conduct such activities often.”
Dr. Safia, Director Health Services, PRCS was delighted to see the response and said “We are thankful to all the volunteers who donated blood and became part of this valuable initiative. This will go a long way in helping people suffering from thalassemia and patients with crucial surgeries that are postponed due to inadequate supply of blood.”
