QMobile Announces its First Tablet, the QTab X50

QMobile has announced its first tablet for the country’s audience, the QTab X50.

The tablet measures 8 inches in size and comes with a quad-core MediaTek processor underneath.

The display is a disappointing aspect, however, with 1024 x 768 resolution. QMobile’s several phones themselves easily top that. The design is also rather uninspiring but we can live with that.

Under the hood, a 1.2Ghz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1 GB worth RAM and 16 GB expandable storage onboard. At the back sits a 5 megapixel camera, coupled by a 2 megapixel camera at the front.

The tablet comes with a SIM card slot but we don’t know whether phone calls and messaging are doable. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also onboard.

Here are the full specs of the X50:

  • Customized Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 8 inch display with resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
  • 9.9mm thick
  • GSM support
  • 1.2Ghz quad-core MediaTek processor
  • 1 GB RAM with 16 GB expandable storage
  • 5 megapixel rear-camera
  • 2 megapixel front-camera
  • Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth
  • 4500 mAh battery
  • Price: PKR 24,500

PKR 24,500 , well, that’s not that much but when you think of comparable offerings by established names like Samsung through devices like the Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, it can be a bit tough to swallow.

You’ve got to be aware of the rights and wrongs before buying this one.

  • Pyro

Crappy specs and Expensive tablet than the Official Google Nexus 7, 32GB, (23,000PKR) and ASUS MEMO PAD HD 7, 8GB with SD card Option (15,000/-PKR)

i think ab un ko tax dena parta hy ziada qki brand name kafi famous ho gaya hy.

      • No, they just got more greedy.

        • droid

or rather they are focusing more on costly ad campaigns rather then improving quality and pricing of their products

    • fakhre alam

great , suggest some 3G enabled tabs please.

      • Leo

try Ainol numy 3G with dual simm at 15K

Qmobile is an indian brand phone and being promoted in pakistan with the name Qmobile. Dont buy Qmobile phones

    • According to my research Qmobile is not indian but it imports mobile phones from china they just sell them under qmobile brand. There is a similar company in india that does exactly like this.

      • fakhre alam

        in india its called micromax

        • Owais Ahmed

You are wrong brother. Micromax is just another company like QMobile, Micromax imports phones from China just like QMobile.

  • Uzair

Just one word. Its a crap.. Price is touching the roof

  • Omair Ahmed

Well, I dont like this tab but similar tab having “GSM support” from Samsung cost at least 35,000+ ..

  • Inamullah Taj

    Nexus 7 all the way!

    • Bilal

Nexus 7 2013 16 GB WiFi model is a better option indeed. Similar in price range but Specs wise it tops out the QTablet easily.

  • Danish

I think “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” kind of offer can be a good idea in this price ;)

    • Azi

      haha agreed

  • Eli Ehsan

They Contacted Angelina Jolie for THAT! May be not…………….

  • Raja

They are showing Qmobile, a China brand, why don’t they review of Ainol tablet. Ainol Captain is cheaper then Qmobile but with greater specs. , Any thoughts

    • Leo

I agree with you on this, I have an Ainol numy 3G with dual simm at same specs at around 15K and believe that Ainol tablets should also be avaluated,,,

  • reader

Can someone recommend a good local 8 inch tablet having all of these three GPS, WiFI and bluetooth support?

  • Nabeel

The specs are very similar to Danny Genius Q4 (worth 17,000 PKR).

  • nadeem ahmed

total crap with the highest price tag :)

  • Sarah

I also heard that Qmobile is an indian phone branded with qmobile here

  • very expensive, better buy Nexus 7

  • Saeed Akram

What logic? You people are comparing a GSM enabled device with non-GSM ones. There is at least 3000 to 5000 Rs price difference between the both. And GSM tabs have their own advantage, you will see whenever 3g comes they will be a big hit, if only at right price. I agree price for this tab is still high by at least 5-6 thousand but it will come down. Not that bad of a deal IMO.
