Do you have a great idea that has social impact and is relevant to Pakistan? Well then you need to hurry up and submit your proposal to the 3rd annual Best IT Innovation Awards (BITA).
Organized by COMSATS and co-sponsored by NTS, the awards are a platform to identify and support innovative and creative ideas in the field of Information Technology.
The awards are divided into two categories.
At a minimum, they must have a proof of concept or prototype that has great social impact, is relevant to the needs of Pakistan and contributes significantly to the IT field.
The winner of the BITA award will get 1 million PKR to take his or her idea further. All ideas will be judged across three broad categories: completeness, technical merit and relevance. We should mention that if your project or proposal has already received funding from any other national or international agency, you are not eligible for BITA.
Just to get a sense of what it takes to win the BITA award, previous winners of the BITA awards include proposals such as ‘BlastSim – Simulation and Modeling of Suicide Bombing for Risk Planning and Mitigation’ and projects like ‘Fetal Anamoly Detection’.
The deadline for submission of ideas to BITA is November 30, 2014. The shortlisted proposals will be made public by December 10, 2014 and the presentation and final evaluation will take place during the International conference on Frontiers of IT (FIT) at the Serena Hotel on 17-19th December, 2014.
