LG has announced a new Android Wear-running smartwatch called the Urbane. While LG’s G Watch and Watch R are marketed as casual and active products respectively, the Watch Urbane lies in the luxury category and should cost significantly more too.
The Watch Urbane comes with a 1.3″ P-OLED circular display with 245 ppi, similar to the Watch R. The design looks much premium with an all-metal body in gold and silver touches with a 28 mm leather strap.
Underneath you get a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB storage. It comes with a total of 9 sensors including a heart-rate sensor. It is also IP67-certified meaning it will bring dust and water resistance. Battery life looks to present the same concern here too with the Watch Urbane coming with a 410 mAh battery that should last the standard three days.
The Watch Urbane should be compatible with all phones running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or above.
“The LG Watch Urbane’s classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices.”
More details are expected at the MWC in two weeks time.
