Google Reveals Android Experiments to Showcase Creativity and Code

Developers have been able to display their unique apps and extensions for Chrome for years now on ‘Chrome Experiments’. Now, Google has unveiled a similar platform for Android developers. On it, developers can show off their best and most unique apps (including Wear apps) on Android Experiments.

At the time of writing there are more than 20 apps available on the Android Experiments website. These range from camera apps to games to watch faces and even the trio of new apps that were created by Google Creative Labs a few days ago. The List also includes some unique apps that were recently released for Android Wear.

Google explains the new platform’s importance by saying

The 20 initial experiments show a broad range of creative work–from camera experiments to innovative Android Wear apps to hardware hacks to cutting edge OpenGL demos. All are built using platforms such as the Android SDK and NDK, Android Wear, the IOIO board, Cinder, Processing, OpenFrameworks and Unity. Each project creatively examines in small and big ways how we think of the devices we interact with every day.

This is just the beginning though. Google’s new Android Experiments is open to all developers who think their apps are creative or unique enough to be featured on the platform. Developers can go to the site and submit an entry which will be verified by Google’s team and if found eligible, become a part of the unique repository. The site is open to everybody, meaning anybody can download from and anybody can submit their apps to the Android Experiments website.

If you want to get more detailed information head to the Android Developers Blog or if you want to download (or submit) some very unique apps go to the source link below.
