Alienware Refreshes its 2015 Lineup of Laptops and Desktops

Alienware, one of the biggest names in PC gaming, has announced upgrades to its existing gaming laptops, as well as a new desktop. Scroll down for details.

Alienware 13, 15, 17

The new laptops come IGZO panels and can have up to 4K resolution. They start at Full HD resolution for the base version. Under the hood, they come with 5th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 U processors, clocked at as much as 3.7 Ghz.

They laptops come with either AMD or NVidia Graphics. The 17” version comes with GTX 970M as standard, but you can also opt for the GTX 980M for all variants. You also get the ability to hook the laptop with an external Graphics Amplifier for even more power.

You get 8 GB of DDR4 memory as standard, while PCIe SSDs are available as an option for all the models but not as default. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, Thunderbolt and Bluetooth 4.1. The upper-end models also have the option of a 92 Whr battery for power.

All the laptops come preloaded with Windows 10. Worth mentioning is the fact is their heft, since even the 13” version weighs more than two kilograms. Pricing starts at $1000, $1200 and $1500 for the Alienware 13, 15 and 17, respectively.

Alienware X51

The X51 desktop PC has gotten a new refresh as well. It starts at $700 for the barebones model with GTX 745 GPU and Core i3. You may also get Core i5 or i7 Skylake processing (at up to 4.4 Ghz) with either 8 or 16 GB DDR4 memory, though with either Radeon R9 370 or GTX 960 graphics.

Storage can go all the way to 2 TB worth hard drive, although you can get a PCIe-based SSD, too. It all comes in a design which is quite akin to a game console. The Skylake versions of the X51 will start at $1100.
