The Founder Institute is one of the world’s largest entrepreneur training programs in the world. What started in Silicon Valley has become a global program in the last few years.
On Friday, The Founder Institute announced that it will be officially launching its institute in Islamabad. The institute is already functioning in Karachi for quite some time now. It has chapters across 50 countries and launched over 1,650 companies and helped in creating over 15,000 jobs.
Before its launch in Islamabad, the institute launched an official trial in the capital city. The trial saw over 300 participants during the “Exploratory Semester”. The trial was carried out to test if the programme would be successful in the city. To celebrate its launch in Islamabad, The Founder Institute will host a few free startup events for the general public and possibly recruit a few more entrepreneurs too. The Founder Institute offers four-month program. The learning is based on a “work-to-learn” based on structured training. Participants learn by starting their own startups during the training program. Experienced CEOs will help and support participants throughout their training program. As the programme is not full-time, it offer full-time professionals with opportunities to test themselves and build on their ideas from their work experience.
The Karachi chapter launched late last year and graduated four technology companies. Those companies received favourable reviews from program graduates and local investment organizations. Adeo Ressi, CEO of the Founder Institute stated:
Our first program in Pakistan was a resounding successs, as we were able to launch four very promising companies in Karachi, and get a significant amount of support from dignitaries, local press, and organizations like DotZero. We’re looking forward to launching many more promising companies in Pakistan with the new Islamabad program.
