Acer is having its own take on the Surface formula, this time coming up with a liquid-cooled design along with other laptops.
The Alpha 12 is perhaps the most eye-catching device in this lineup. It comes with a 12-inch display with Quad HD (2160 x 1440) resolution. Its liquid-cooling allows to have a fanless design.
Moreover, it is also the first 2-in-1 to get the 6th-generation Intel Skylake processor. An additional backlit keyboard is sold separately. The design consists of a brushed aluminum lid, and a kickstand which can be adjusted. Price starts at $599 (approx. Rs. 62,700).
Acer is bringing in a laptop with Apple design at half the price, the new S 13. This laptop comes with a 13-inch IPS display with an optional touchscreen. On the hardware side, you get up to a Core i7 Skylake, 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Connectivity takes place in the form of USB Type-C.
The design of the S 13 is clearly inspired from the MacBook, featuring a 0.57” white aluminum chassis with a competent battery life of up to 11 hours. Prices start at a modest $699 (Rs. 73,200).
Clearly the most beastly machine on display is the gaming Predator 17X laptop here. Coming with a 17.3” display with either FHD or 4K UHD resolution, it has support for G-Sync technology from Nvidia for a more smoother gameplay.
Under the hood, you’ll get an unlocked Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, with a desktop Nvidia GeForce FTX 980 graphics card.
Alongside is up to 64 GB of Ram, three storage options including SSD RAID 0, and USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, DisplayPort and Killer DoubleShot Ether for connectivity.
The design is no slouch either with a custom backlit keyboard. Another great feature is the support for VR headsets. Pricing starts at a good $2799 (approx. Rs. 2,93,100).
